Main Objective:
To seek practical solutions to environmental and biodiversity conservation problems, and improve community livelihoods through capacity development, resources support and linkage with donors, development partners, government agencies and departments; as well as placements and recruitment of international and local volunteer to work in the area of environmental conservation for sustainable development.
Actions:
- Promote species conservation, habitat connectivity and landscapes
- Community empowerment through capacity building, livelihood improvements, awareness creation, outreach for sustainable resource use and to protect the environment
- Policy and advocacy for favorable to biodiversity conservation.
- Initiating bio-enterprises for income generating for communities in support of livelihoods and biodiversity conservation
How we achieve our objectives;
In order to achieve our mission to conserve for sustainability of nature and communities, Adept Conservation Network (ACN) focus is on; species, habitats, landscapes, community empowerment, capacity building, exploring alternative livelihood and policy advocacy among others in areas under threat.
These will be achieved through Re-imagining, Re-connecting and Re-creating Networks whilst implementing the following activities;
- Species conservation, habitat and landscapes restoration and connectivity.
- Promotion of sustainable resource use and capacity building.
- Advocating for policies favorable to biodiversity conservation.
- Mobilizing and empowering the community to protect and benefit from the environment and biodiversity.
- Initiating bio-enterprises for income generating for communities in support of livelihoods and biodiversity conservation.
- Increasing public awareness and understanding of environmental and biodiversity conservation matters.
- Promoting youth voluntarism by working with volunteers in partnership with other development groups and through implementation of projects.
- Recruiting volunteers locally and from other parts of the world to work for conservation projects and to provide learning opportunities.
